The arranger-magician for Chick Corea and Pat Metheny, Spellemann winner for classical music, Buddy Prize recipient, with heaps of commissioned works for both small and large orchestras, and a formidable interpreter of others' music in Come Shine – the world’s best cover band. Now, Skomsvoll is clearing his desk, scaling back on composing for large orchestras for a while, and focusing all his time and creativity on piano playing and trio work. Joining him is a unique and tight rhythm section with double bassist Roger Morland (Det Norske Blåseensemble) and drummer Knut Aalefjær (Helge Lien, Geir Lysne) – both capable of seamlessly following Skomsvoll's excursions between jazz and classical harmonies.
