Hard-swinging, acoustic jazz with modern melodies and soulful ballads, inspired by Mark Turner, Ornette Coleman, and Tom Harrell. After many years of fascination with the Swedish super-drummer Cornelia Nilsson (Aaron Parks, Gabor Bolla, Daniel Franck), Aksel simply had to send a message to inquire if there was a possibility of starting a new project. The response was positive, and Røed quickly assembled a band for last year’s Tedansfestival. Not only did it leave them wanting more, but there will also be an album release with a launch party at this year’s Nattjazz. Traditional jazz in a modern guise from the Røed brothers (FIEH, Slow is the New Fast), Ola Høyer (Cortex), and the fresh winner of the Ben Webster Award, Cornelia Nilsson.
